MAHINDRA XUV 700 LAUNCH BY OCTOBER 2021

Mahindra has announced the launch of their new XUV 700 which will be an upgraded version of the XUV 500. The SUV is set to launch in India by October 2021 and will rival MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.

New Design

The all new XUV 700 will get all new styling but it will have some resemblance of the XUV 500. Some of the updated design elements will include a new and more upright grille, new C-shaped headlights with unique LED DRLs, new taillights, new alloy wheel design and restyled bonnet, bumpers and tailgate. There will also be two seating configurations on offer – a 6-seat layout with captain seats in the middle row and a 7-seat layout with a bench style seat in the middle row.

Features and Tech on offer

It will come with a neat centre console, which has a large dashboard, touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, front and rear parking sensors on higher variants. The infotainment system will be about 7-inch in lower variants and about 10-inch in higher variants. The XUV700 is likely to have segment-first features like level-2 autonomous driving tech, digital driver’s display and electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. It could also come with dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, and ambient lighting. Safety features should consist of multiple airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control.

Powertrain

XUV 700 will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The Petrol engine will be a 2.0 Litre 4 cylinder Turbocharged unit which will produce a max power of 190hp. The diesel engine will be a 2.2 Litre 4 cylinder M-Hawk unit which is expected to produce a max power of 185hp. The gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

XUV 700 Competitions

The XUV 700 will be competing in the 3 rowed mid size SUV segment. This means that it will rival MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.
