The Kia Seltos contributes for major share of 70 percent of the total sales while the Sonet accounts for 28 percent. Kia India has cross the mark of 2,50,000-unit domestic sales record after recording total sales of 16,111 units in April 2021

KIA is currently the No. 5 in the overall passenger vehicle market with a 5.74 percent market share and the No. 3 in the utility vehicle market, behind Maruti and Hyundai, having pipped Mahindra & Mahindra in FY2021.
Kia has achieved all this sales number with all of three products – the made-in-India Seltos which has has the major share of 70 percent, on the second is the Sonet SUVs with 28 percent share and the CKD-assembled Carnival MPV.
Kia Seltos record sales of over 1.75 Lakh units, while the Sonet crosses 70,000 sales mark
KIA’s first product Seltos was launched in August 2019, has sold a total of 1,78,895 units till April-end 2021, contributing for 70 percent of Kia’s total sales of 2,55,770 units. The compact SUV Sonet that was launched in September 2020 has recorded sales of 71,441 units and comprising 28 percent of Kia India’s total sales till now. The Carnival MPV has sold a total of 5,434 units and which contributes for the rest of the sales.
KIA India Plans for FY2022
Harpreet Singh Brar, VP and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India said, “Currently, we have a waiting period of 3-4 months on our products. Despite all the tough times and lockdowns in five states, we still have a lot of demand from the rest of the markets, so we are trying to supply cars to these cities.”
“We hope to ramp up production by June-July and start the third shift at the plant, as we hope that the pandemic-related supply-chain issues should be resolved by that time,” added Singh.
KIA has recently introduced their updated Kia Seltos and Sonet in India on May 1 with updated features and brand new logo. For the upcoming year Kia is also planning to introduce their mid size SUV named KIA KY specifically for the Indian market.
