The all new and updated 11th gen Honda Civic has been revealed for the North American Market. The new Civic is longer in terms of wheelbase than its previous model by 36mm and continues to get the broad and low design which it is known for.
Honda Civic Design
The new civic has a more mature and sportier design. With sleek looking front grille with LED headlamps and blackened side view mirrors which have now been further positioned at the back of the door unlike the previous 10th gen model which had its side mirrors at the base of the A pillar. At the front of the car on the either sides are the fog lamps which are integrated with a lower grille adds to a great visual appeal. At the rear is the sporty looking LED Taillight along with an integrated spoiler on the boot lid.

Honda Civic Engine Updates
The Honda Civic will be offered with two engine options first is a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol which produces a max power of 160hp and max torque of 187Nm. Second comes a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol produces a max power of 182hp and 240Nm of max torque. Both engines are mated with a CVT gearbox as standard.
All New Safety Tech
Along with these features the new Honda Civic gets modern driver assisting features like Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) which can help bring the car to a stop by automatically applying brake pressure when system determines that a frontal collision is unavoidable.
On second there is Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) which can determine if you cross the lanes without signaling can provide steering assistance to help you return to your lane or provide braking to help you keep from leaving the roadway entirely.
And the last comes the Lane Keeping assist system (LKAS) which helps when you are cruising on the highway or you’re in traffic. While your hands are on the wheel the system can help your vehicle in the centre of the lane by making subtle steering adjustments.
Honda has given the sedan its new front airbags – the driver unit gets a donut-shaped structure to help better cradle the head and reduce rotation while the passenger gets a three-chamber design unit for the same purpose.
Honda Civic Plans in India
It is not clear whether Honda will decide to bring the updated civic to India after the discontinuation of its 10th gen Civic due to lack of demand in the Indian market. Honda currently have Honda WRV, Amaze, Jazz and the popular Honda city 4th gen and 5th gen in the Indian market.
