Kia Seltos drives into top 5 bestselling SUVs, MPVs list in August 2019.
The Korean car maker KIA has sold over 6,200 cars since its launch on 22nd August 2019. And, the Seltos is among the top 5 bestselling SUV in August 2018. In comparison, Hyundai has sold 6,001 units of
Creta in August 2019. While, MG (Morris Garages) Motor sold 2,018units of
Hector in August.
Kia Seltos comes with 3 BSVI compliant engines - 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel and 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. All the three engines get a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The automatic options include IVT in 1.5-litre petrol, 6-speed AT in 1.5-litre VGT diesel and 7-speed DCT in 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol.
Kia Seltos and MG Hector are new launches in India while Hyundai Creta has been since July 2015 and has set new benchmarks for the number of units sold every month. Kia Seltos outnumbering the Hyundai Creta and MG Hector is a big surprise for the Indian automobile industry. Hyundai has sold over 3.7 Lakh Creta cars since its launch in July 2015.
Ex-showroom price of Kia Seltos ranges between 9.69 Lakh and 15.99 Lakh. Hyundai Creta price stands between 10 Lakh and 15.67 Lakh. MG Hector priced between 12.18 Lakh and 16.88 Lakh. So, Kia Seltos is priced almost equal when compared with Hyundai Creta while its cheaper than MG Hector which could be one of the reason for the success of Kia Seltos.
